A greenhouse complex on an area of ​​60 hectares is being built in Kabardino-Balkaria

In the Chegem district of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the construction of the first stage of the largest greenhouse complex in the North Caucasus is underway. A large-scale investment project worth more than 18 billion rubles ($157 million), involves the creation of two thousand jobs and significant tax deductions to the local budget, the news agency RIA Kabardino-Balkaria reports.

The area of ​​the first stage of the new agricultural enterprise will be more than 60 hectares of year-round greenhouses, more than 3 hectares of administrative and storage facilities. Estimated production volumes will exceed 50,000 tons per year.

At present, the planning stage of the territory is being completed, after which the builders will begin the construction of the greenhouse complex. The first plantings is planned for the end of this year.

The investor of the new project is the agro-industrial complex "Ecoculture", the largest producer of protected ground in the Russian Federation. One of the main principles of the holding's production is the environmental friendliness of products, the protection of plants by biological rather than chemical methods.

The greenhouse complex will specialize in growing tomatoes and berries. According to experts, there are all conditions for growing these types of agricultural products. The investor plans to expand production capacity in the future.
