From July 1, 2022, amendments to the law on the basics of tourism activities in the Russian Federation will come into force, prohibiting non-certified guides, guide-interpreters and instructor-guides from going on routes.
That is, any guide who talks about the sights of a particular area will be required to appear before an attestation commission, receive a badge of the established form and get into the unified federal register of guides.
Improving the quality of excursion services will certainly only benefit tourists, but the professional community of guides still has a lot of questions and concerns about this law.
