On April 9, the city of Derbent hosted the federal meeting “Sustainable Development of Tourism in the North Caucasus”, within the framework of which an agreement was signed on cooperation in the field of tourism development in the North Caucasus on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal District and the Republic of Adygea,- the "Mirmol" online publication reports.
As noted in the press service of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Dagestan, the event brought together representatives of the Federal Tourism Agency, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the highest executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, the Russian Geographical Society, representatives of the tourism industry, the public, scientific and expert communities.
Nikolai Valuev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development, spoke about the importance of developing domestic tourism in the face of sanctions, and also noted that this meeting should develop additional criteria for assessing the development of tourism in the North Caucasus.
